garlic butter mushrooms and onions

Sautéed mushrooms and onions are a delicious side to add to your grilled chicken, salmon or even simply by itself as a quick snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb sliced baby Bella mushrooms
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 1 large sweet onion
- 4 cloves minced garlic or garlic paste
- red pepper flakes to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- parsley or cilantro to garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Pour olive oil over medium heat heat in a large skillet. Add your mushrooms and cook your mushrooms until brown. (mushrooms retain a lot of moisture so it's best to cook over high heat and stir frequently to avoid burning)
- Add your sliced onions on medium heat until translucent.
- On low-medium heat add your butter and minced garlic or paste and stir. (garlic can be easily burned so stir frequently on low heat).
- Salt and pepper to taste. If you want some heat then add red pepper flakes.
- Garnish with parsley or cilantro.
